FAQs

How do I sign up?

You can submit via the form submission below or by emailing juliadankberg@gmail.com with your name, your child's name and which dates you would like to sign up for! Camps are booked on a day-by-day basis. For example, if you would like your child to attend for a full week, you will book in for the week and pay per day. This allows for the most flexibility for your schedule!

What are the registration deadlines?

There are none! Just sign up or reach out and I'll let you know if we are able to accommodate your camper! I recommend signing up as soon as you know that you want to enroll your camper as it will help with planning and will ensure that your camper has a spot in for the day of your choosing!

Is there an early bird discount?

As much as I love a good pun, no unfortunately there are no discounts at this time.

What is the cancellation policy?

Life happens! If you need to cancel, please do so as soon as your plans have changed. If you need to cancel within 24 hours of the booked camp/class, we will allow your camper to reschedule and attend a different date of camp, but we will not issue a refund. If you have any questions about our cancellation policy, please email juliadankberg@gmail.com and we will be as accommodating and flexible as possible!

Can I sign my camper up for individual days or weeks?

Bookings are on a day per day basis, but weeklong bookings are more than welcome!

Does my camper need prior craft experience to join?

Nope! None at all! All they need is the willingness to learn a new craft.

What ages do you accommodate?

We recommend mature 5 year olds through 13+ attend sewing camps.

How many kids attend camp?

Camps at the moment are small with 8-10 (absolute max) campers attending per day.

What are the camp hours?

Monday-Thursday 5:30-8:00pm
Fridays 2:00pm-6:00pm

Where does camp take place?

Camp will take place :xxx}.

Are materials provided?

Yes! All the materials needed to complete Quirky Bird sewing projects will be provided! If a camper wants to work a larger project, we ask that you please bring materials and pattern to class and we will work on it together!

Can my camper bring a project she is already working on/wants to work on?

Yes! If your camper has a project in mind and would like to bring their own materials and pattern to complete the project, that is warmly welcomed. This is great for larger, long term projects that require more material than what is usually provided in class. Projects that students have brought in the past include quilts, bags, and clothing. Please be mindful of the pattern and material requirements. You can always email juliadankberg@gmail.com questions before buying anything!

Who is leading the camp?

Julia Dankberg is the teacher and owner of Quirky Birds Dallas, TX. She has been a lifelong crafter and was a teacher at the original Quirky Birds in Sydney, AUS. If you'd like to know more about her or the Quirky Birds story, please visit ABOUT.

How do you handle allergies or medical conditions?

Everyone is welcome at Quirky Birds Dallas. If your child has a serious allergy, please also note during sign up. If you have a child with a special need or condition, please email juliadankberg@gmail.com and we would be happy to help accommodate their needs to ensure that everyone gets to craft!

What safety protocols are in place?

Quirky Birds Dallas is committed to keeping your children safe. We will be in a secure location with minimal traffic and children will always receive 100% supervision. For sewing, we teach proper technique and go slowly so as to minimize accidents during craft time.

Is there parking available for drop-off/pick-up?

Yes! There is plenty of parking out front for safe pick-ups and drop-offs.
